I opened my store Works of Heart in July 1995. Originally I started with florals and handcrafted gifts. I knew I wanted to add Boyds Bears to my shop so I went to the California Gift Show the month my shop opened and placed my first order for Boyds Bears. I wanted to add the Bearstones and other Resin lines but at that time they weren't accepting new dealers so I was put on a waiting list. I kept checking to see if  I could become a Bearstone dealer and finally they said yes. Not only could I become a Bearstone dealer but I could have Folkstones and Dollstones too! I was so happy! Now I carry all lines of Boyds. I have always loved bears and thought of opening a Bear Shop years before I finally went ahead and opened my shop. I went on to add Annette Funicello Bears, Marie Osmond dolls, Ganz Cottage Collectibles, Cherished Teddies and Bearington Bears. In 1997 my customers started asking for Ty Beanie Babies so I added them just in time for the Beanie Baby craze.
